FIMWeb:

FIMWeb is UIC’s space inventory system. It provides relevant facilities-related information for issues involving space management, allocation, and utilization. FIM staff members maintain a comprehensive database that documents the approximately 16 million square feet of gross space and over 13 million square feet of assignable space in 194 UIC buildings. There are over 44,000 separate rooms listed in the official inventory, which is managed through the Archibus space module. The section also maintains a library of building floor plans in AutoCAD format.

Facility Information Management (FIM) conducts various levels of inventory updates to keep current the floor plans, reported functional utilization, and occupancy for all spaces which are either owned or leased by the university. FIM also supports campuswide efforts to expedite access to past, present and future records related to UIC facilities. The Project and Facility Archives managed by FIM include, but are not limited to: minutes, correspondence, memoranda, financial records, published materials, photographs, drawings, maps and sound recordings.

FIM is also responsible for the upkeep and archival of all facilities drawings produced internally and externally for the University of Illinois Chicago. Most, if not all, drawings used for the campus buildings and grounds reside as a master set in the CAD and Archive section. These drawings consist of original renderings, CAD files, and digitally scanned drawings.
